Guitar Stands
The important features to look for in an instrument stand:
Function before form. It really does not matter if it an instrument stand looks good, if it does not perform its function. The stand should support the instrument securely. Here are some features very important to help you decide which position suits you best.
1. Most-stability very important feature of all. The stand should allow the instrument to look backward more than being vertical. Natural gravity keep the instrument place if the stand is bent.
2. Wide-Stance Prevents the instrument to switch from side to side. The stand must support the basic the instrument at the widest point possible.
3. Proper padding-ALL contact points where the position of the instrument must be doubled some sort of padding. If the instrument is sitting on metal, wood or material of the stand it will certainly scratch and damage the finish your valuable instrument.
4. Open Stand Design Sharp hooks, points, "caps", etc. are a big no no! These brackets are usually seen at the bottom of the stand, intended to prevent the instrument before sliding to the base. If the stand has 3 elements mentioned above, there no need those hooks sharp. They will do more damage than good. Setting your instrument in its stand should be easy as 123. 5. No neck support – True, no support in the neck! Although some stands can get away with using a support neck, in general it is not recommended. When pressure is applied on the neck of an instrument of bad things happen. The instruments are made from wood. Wood fluctuate as the amount of moisture in the air changes. If pressure is applied by means of a support neck, if the humidity changes occur, the neck will deform, causing a strong action, the handle of a distorted guitar and even a heel off. A well-designed position need not support the neck. Be very tired when you shop for your new stand. Make sure this does not compromise not the instrument in any way.
6. Sustainability-A position well built instrument will last a very long time. Make sure the stand is a value of what you pay for it.
7. Call-Finally, after the above criteria are met, consider how the stand looks like. Do congratulate your instrument? Can it fits well in the room where you intend to use it?
An instrument stand is the second part equipment most important for a musician. This is a temporary place to fix your instrument when you do not play. At rest, Your device must be safe, secure and readily available for you to pick it up and play.
